Gears Of War 2 - "Old School" Weekend

Based off the chatter on the Epic forums, this may be more of a litmus test for things to come rather than a traditional throwback weekend. There have been many complaints about the concussive stun effect upgrade that the smoke grenades in the sequel introduced. For the next four days, that won't be a problem because during this "old school" weekend the smoke grenades have lost their knockdown ability and the squads have been dropped back down to 4v4 from the 5v5 we have been playing since Gears 2 launched.

This will be interesting. I, for one, enjoy the original gaming features, but having this new "old school" mode might spice things up a bit. We'll see...
 
They didn't need to scale back to 4v4, but taking out the smokes is a nice touch. Might get me to give Gears 2 one more try.
 
I think it'll be a good thing and make the game a little more strategic again. Too bad that this is the busiest weekend of the year for me since I am drinking my tits off Saturday - Monday for Memorial Day weekend. I don't think I'll be online very often.
