Glasses Deter Japanese Consumers From 3D Tech, Survey Finds

The hype surrounding stereoscopic 3D is falling on deaf ears in Japan, if a recent survey conducted by Japanese e-commerce site Kakaku is any indication. Representing a sample base of 8,957 people, the poll showed that 67.4 have no interest whatsoever in picking up a 3D-ready TV set. Another 31.2 percent said they were intrigued by the tech to the point of consideration.

Of those polled that have no plans to invest in a 3D TV, almost 70 percent cited the nagging requirement of having to wear glasses as a deal breaker[...]

I'm a 3D hater, so I don't think I'll get into that gimmick anytime soon
 
The deal breaker for me is that I can't notice/see the 3d effects. I've went to quite a few 3d films including Avatar and Alice In Wonderland yet could never see where or when the 3d effects were.
