Half-Life 1 Remake Black Mesa Misses 2009

Following in the footsteps of Valve, the development team behind the much-anticipated Half-Life 1 remake Black Mesa have announced that it will not make 2009 as originally planned. The team released an nostalgia-inducing trailer last year, pegging a late 2009 date on the Source engine powered mod, a release target which unfortunately will be missed.

It's a shame, this is one of the most awaited mods, and looks like it's going to be groundbreaking for the mod community.

I wish them the best, to do this in one's free time is admirable.

I'm not that surprised but considering the amount of work that goes into making a mod as ambitious as this, I think that delays are acceptable. Especially considering that it's being made in peoples free time.

Still doesn't mean that I'm not gutted by the delay though
