planing to buy a hdtv..probably sony or samsung
is there anything important that i have to take of be4 i buy?
like i heared about contrast ratio? wtf is btw.
and how do i know that i support 720p or 1080p?
Generally the tv's specs will list if its 1080p ot 720p. Honestly, go with 1080p is you can swing it. Contrast ratio has something to do mwith how bright the tv can get - i'm not 100% clear on it but i know a/v dorks get all squishy when a tv has a big contrast ratio.
I just recently picked up a 42in sharp aquos, and am totally loving it (as is my ps3)
If you're gonna get an HDTV you owe it to yourself to do at least a bit of wiki-ing on the subject, jeez. Contrast ratio is the difference between the brightest white and the darkest black.
It's a really old thread that was resurrected thanks to an account that was likely a bot. xD
Back when this thread was made, 1080p screens were a lot more expensive then their 720p counterparts.
