help with 340 oe-a

Hi I have firmware 330oe a on my psp but when I tried to up it to 340 oe-a it started but the screen goes black and nothing happens. I tried to use the recovery but the same thing happens it starts but the screen goes black and it shuts off after a couple of seconds.
My system still works it plays homebrew,ISO's and everything else but I just can't change the firmware.
can anyone help me out?
did anyone hear on this happening yet?
I heard that a bug could make files write to the flash, could that be why it doesn't

No, I've never heard of this happening.

What are you trying to run.. the update maker or the flasher?

also try formatting your memory stick.

I am trying to run both, I did not try to format the stick.
