How to install custom firmware on 3.7.1

My brother finally bought himself a psp and it came with revision 3.7.1

I havent had to downgrade or install custom firmware in awhile can anyone give me a heads up what is required to get him going or if this revision is even possible to install custom firmware on? Do I need to deal with the pandora battery etc? (never had to use it yet)

well, if you want custom firmware...You will need someone who also has a Homebrew enabled PSP o.o do you know any?
