How to properly switch ps1 games on psp

I have completed disk 1 of final fantasy 7 and needed to switch to disk 2, so i exit the game went to USB mode on the XMB. Deleted disk 1, installed disk 2, went out of USB mode started the game and then to find out that my saved game will not load. Where did i go
wrong?

First of all, thank you for your time to write and not freak out, you seem very educated on the subject, that's all we ask around here.:thumbup1: When you convert your Disc 2 you have to set it to the same GameID and SaveID as the first disc. I can't give very specific help because I don't know what client/GUI you're using to convert them to EBOOTs, but yeah, if you can't find it then either tell me what you're using or just use PSXPSP v1.2, which is by far the best EBOOT converter.:smile:
 
The SaveID was the same as disk 1 but the GameID was not, Thank you very much for your help.
