I hear people calling NAND but what is that?

Also i have read many time they have uhmm how can i say this.
They have screw up their NAND. How can you do that?

The nand is: the lflash (the firmware), keys and the IPL i think.I advice to make a backup of your nand as soon as possible, it will save your life, sooner or later.

and how do you do that? do you need a seperate memory stick or can i put that in the magic stick too?

you don't need another memory stick.Use Cory's tool.
Or Pandora's battery or Despertar del cementerio. But i heard that despertar del cementerio has some issues fixing bad blocks, so i advice to go with Cory's nandtool.(click here)

okay i dont follow or understand. you need memory stick to put save the files somewhere. so you still need it not?

also if you have pandora battery you dont need those tools?

Won't hurt having it. :D Even though I have a Pandora set myself, my memory stick still has lots of maintenance tools.

Most backups of the NAND will be stored on the root of the memory stick, so basically after you've dumped it, copy the file onto your computer where it's safe. :D

which nandtool do i have to choose? and how do you use it?

also how can you mixed up your nand? maybe i dont need it if i just dont use something about it.

It's hard to mess up your NAND unless you intentionally do it. For example, someone here actually formatted his flash0 through Windows. That would screw it up.

Also stay away from using applications that deal with the idstorage, unless you know what you're doing.
