Oh, as far as my itching question goes, if I was to post about PSX to PSP conversion, what is the sub-forum I must post in to keep on topic?:confused1:

As for the PS1 to PSP conversion, Homebrew Discussion would be best for asking any questions.
There is a guide for converting games but it is from 2007 so not 100% sure how well the results would be but you can find the guide here
