idStorage Question?

Erm.. I hope I'm posting at the correct section? I did a search on Google and stumbled upon this forum. I've a question regarding IDStorage, I ran KeyCleaner 1.4 on my PSP Slim and the result was positive except for this particular key:

0x0043... Failed! This is a copy of key 0x0043, KC 1.4 didn't/can't fix this, should I be worried though? I don't really like to mess around w/ sophisticated things if this is something I should be worried and if there is a fix, please do let me know I realllly appreciate it!

Thank you so much!

PSP Slim 2000 (Japanese)
T-85
CFW (5.50 GEN-D3)
I did a couple of downgrades and upgrades on my slim using Hellcat

First post! Hopefully I'll continue to stay and contribute to the masses.

As far as i know key 43 is for the usb device id, thankfully it is not a unique key although it is model specific so..... In theory you could copy the same key from another Slim psp which is the same model and copy into your idstorage and should work fine.

Not sure whether DA DC7 could regenerate that one for you, i would research that option first.

Is the key critical to using your psp, not sure.

* 0x43 - USB (Device ID) - slightly different since Slim v1

@January39:

Actually many have told me to ignore this as it is not entirely vital unless I've a PS3 and I'd like to ad-hoc/connect with it but I'm the sort that always want things to be perfect :(

By the way if I did find the proper, clean key to replace my faulty one, just how do I ever go about doing it? I mean do I go into flash0 or something like that? A tutorial or tips would be helpful.

@alex_e:

Umm... Is it alright if you could go into more details? I'm kinda scared... I might screw up my device.

I was not sure if it was vital, as it is a USB one i would doubt very much whether it is vital, there are loads of keys that are not vital about 10-20 of those are unique to your psp but since DC7 that has become less of a problem.

Nothing wrong with wanting things right :)

@alex_e

That is ssooooooo complicated, I think I'll stay away I don't wanna risk bricking or destroying my PSP permanently but I'll bookmarked and read it thoroughly when I'm confident enough I'll give it a go.

@january39

0x0043 is USB ID... to be very honest w/ you I am not EXACTLY sure what is USB ID but it must be some kind of USB identification for some kind of connection, lol. And yeah you're right, there is nothing wrong in wanting things right. :)

Thanks everyone!

personally, if your psp still connects to the pc/ps3 i would just leave it, as you said, you may do more damage then good.
