is it safe to nand change many times?

hey, i want to try 6.00 OFW, i'm using 5.00 M33.

i'm planning to nand backup my psp first, install 5.00 OFW and update.
when i'm done, i'll use that nand dump.

i don't want to install OFW first, update and install M33 (not nand restore) because i believe if OFW changes things in f1 it wouldn't be nice for cfw (sometimes)

i know using someone else's nand dump is pretty dumb.i am going to use all mine.

is it safe to backup-restore nand like this? or should i restore when i *really* need?

thanks.

If your psp works fine, id say dont do it and use a pandora batt to downgrade to cfw.

my point is, after i use 6.00, it will change f1 and when i downgrade, M33 will use same, changed f1.
we know improperly changed f1 can cause semi-bricks and OFW is capable to do it.

if i restore nand, f1 will be reverted too. so i think i am not going to have problems this way.... or am i?

You could, im pretty sure alot of the security features in 6.00 have been revised, so i would say stick to whatever firmware you are using and then get whatever CFW you want.

As far as I know, Nand Restores arent excactly as dangerous as people say, but you have to use your own. (duh ) But what OFW are you on right now?

Also, when you install a CFW from a OFW, i beleive the whole flash's gets flashed.

And yes, as along its your nand dump, i should be fine, i do it to dg to 1.50 and to upgrade to 5.00m33

i'm currently on 5.00M33. just curious about updates between mine and newest.
looks like i should be less curious, it's the safest way :p

@alex_e: try it:
eject ms, install an OFW and update it to a newer one. it will remember your name&settings
so f1 doesnt get wiped while updating ^^

btw i just "bricked" a laptop's bios, wish there was a universal pandora battery :p

There is a limit to how many times a nand can be wiped and replaced although i doubt we would hit it, updating OFW to OFW will keep f1. CFW to OFW will erase all the flash drives.

@Alex e - why do you not use timemachine or leda for 1.50?

Your already on 5.00m33? Why would you want to upgrade it? >.>

i have read, and watched videos about new... er... "features", i know they're minor updates, i just wanted to try them myself...

i dont use timemachine because i dont know how....

Not really, the only thing i had trouble with is finding the 3.60 psar file, sony apparently made it hard for people to post it :P

And timemachine works great on my slim, so why not give it a go? you get 3.60 and 1.5. I tested some apps specifically for 1.5 and they ran fine, even IRSHELL, msn me and ill help you out if you want

Alright, next time my psp is charged and i can be asked i'll ask ya on msn, lol

THe 360 Psar is copyrighted to SCE and technically there is no way it exists. :)
