Jumping out of Box to Break Board - You requested, I answered

It breaks into 2 squares. O.o

Did it break along the grain?

Yes, boards are only breakable along the grain (I have video of me trying otherwise though...but that probably won't be put up since that was a while ago)

I break boards either way. (but not with flying side kicks.)

I dont know how to spell it.

I practiced Tang Soo Do for several years with some training in a few other arts (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, and just a little Muay Thai (which is what I think you were trying to say). I haven't actually done any solid training in over a year though :/

Oh if any of you are interested I uploaded my mid-air board break that I did earlier this summer:

Always a fun challenge. I've tried tossing it up and doing a jump-spin-inside-outside kick (tornado kick) but my timing was never right.

Why are you twisting back and forth three times?

Usually it's just once but I was trying to get my footing right and timing right. By "twisting" like that you are using your hips which will provide more power in your strike. And looking at the video right now it's not really back and forth, just forward, back forward (not sure why I went forward to begin but the back and forward motion is the "hip motion" that you need to use for a proper strike)
