If you were trying to punch through like five of them at once, that would be a different story.
 
Usually it's just once but I was trying to get my footing right and timing right. By "twisting" like that you are using your hips which will provide more power in your strike. And looking at the video right now it's not really back and forth, just forward, back forward (not sure why I went forward to begin but the back and forward motion is the "hip motion" that you need to use for a proper strike)

I would've just said "Cause it's Hammer Time." But that's a good explanation too.

When I get some money I'll get some bigger ones, I stacked 3 of them together and broke that with the flying-side kick (but even that was easy). I ordered them online so I wasn't so sure what size they would be (they used damn mm dimensions and I was too lazy to convert).
