Leaderboard Question

Can someone help explain to me how the leaderboards work a bit?

My PSN score ranking is around 105,477. So that means 105,476 PSN users have a higher score than me. The leaderboard says 105M players are tracked on the PSN scoreboard.

The Steam leaderboard says 813,095 players are tracked.

But then I look at the cross-platform leaderboard. And it says only 286,687 users are tracked. My ranking there is 34,610.

How / why is the total number of people on the cross platform leaderboard so much lower than the people on the cross platform leaderboard?

My only guess would be:

The individual leaderboards are tracking ALL users, whereas the cross platform leaderboard is only tracking users registered on Exophase.

Is that accurate? Or is there another explanation?

Thanks.

My apologies. I apparently asked this question before and got this answer:

"
Basically the difference in count is down to users that haven't verified their email address and those that haven't registered. Both are filtered out from the cross platform leaderboard.

Don't need to create an account to generate a gamercard for example but that still adds you to the tracked player count. Sometimes other forums would use our gamercards without their users having visited the site, that is responsible for a large majority of it I’d say."
