Don't be forgetting about Pacman.

My FreeBSD server has a four month uptime.
My iMac would have 3 if it wasn't for the 10.5.6 update.
My harddrve crashes a lot on my MacBook but that has a lot to do with vibration, although the first time it crashed I hadn't moved it for a while; it was just the three month constant downloadig.

I have never had a crash on a personal laptop.

I left the xp system up for 6 months once while torrenting a few hundred gb's.


the only reason I shut my new lappy off is I don't wanna hurt the battery life. will being on constantly lower the life span?

I never keep my computers on longer than overnight. I have a strange fear that doing so would cause the electric bill to jump.
