With this morning's Nintendo Direct, Reggie Fils-Aime, current Nintendo of America President, announced that the Nintendo 3DS will be receiving a new Legend of Zelda game this holiday season. This is not a remake of a classic like we've seen recently from Nintendo with Wind Waker HD and Ocarina of Time on the 3DS but rather a sequel to a classic.
The new Zelda, currently only named in Japan as The Legend of Zelda: Kamigami no Triforce 2 (The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2), will be a sequel to the world-renowned SNES title A Link to the Past.
The game is said to take place in the same game world as the SNES title but offer an entirely new story and dungeons.
