(Sorry if already mentionned in the forum, but i did not find it)
I just tried to add my profile on Google play, but it seems that the letter case is not taken into account when saving the name.
I first thought I forgot it so I typed another name to be sure it was reset, I also tried after removing it, and every time I save with my name (which includes uper and lower case letters), it links to an account which is not mine.
So it seems the letter case is not taken in account for this kind of profile.
Edit: My bad, I spelled my nickname wrong (an O instead of an 0). So it seems it added someone else whose letter case was different anyway.
