Rockstar just announced that film-noir shooter Max Payne and the sequel, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, are now available to download from Microsoft's Xbox Originals service. The two initially appeared on an ESRB listing last month.

Serving as a conduit to the up and coming third installment, both titles tell the tale of a retribution-seeking New York City cop, featuring the original and highly-lavished bullet time gameplay mechanic. Copious in usage, it was one of the main draws of sitting down to play Max Payne back in the day, apart from the intriguing plot filled with witty one-liners and plenty of high-octane action sequences.

At the price point of 1200 MS points or $15 each, both titles are well worth it, unless of course you can find a hard copy cheaper elsewhere. Which shouldn't prove to be difficult.
