Multi Metro 2034 Poised for E3 Reveal, THQ Promises 'More Polish'

With a 2012 release date on the cards, THQ is taking its sweet time with Metro 2034, the sequel to last year's post-apocalyptic hit Metro 2033. In a recent interview with Joystiq, company VP of Core Games Danny Bilson says the follow-up is undergoing heavy polish and will be "properly nurtured" in the marketing department this time around.

Expect everything you loved about Metro to return -- from its gripping atmosphere to jaw-dropping visuals -- only in refined form.

Agreed, one of the best games I played last year. Can't wait for the sequel. BTW it's a Steamworks title so if you find it cheap at retail the serial can be activated on Steam.
 
hm, with the re-estruturation of THQ, I believe I'll be taking their titles more seriously now... I should get Metro 2033

Metro 2033 was quite linear, definitely wasn't a sandbox game. The STALKER series would be more open but it's aboveground.
 
I played Metro 2033 on PC, and I just loved it!
So far, I have played through the game twice, and when I have the time - I will play it a third time. I love the fallout and stalker universe, and this game gives you the same great post-apocalyptic feeling. Suits my preferences perfectly! Although the game is quite linear, it more than makes up for it with atmosphere, a great storyline and sweet action-sequences. The graphical engine is fantastic and the level of detail although the game was just a piece of art.
