MfM Logo Re-design (Inputs, Submissions, Concepts, etc.)

Once again I am up late at night and am far from being tired. I've whipped up another quick job trying to emulate the ESRB logo in some respects.

EDIT: Tried to see what it would look like on the forums/banner area and with some opacity tweaking it looks pretty good IMO. It could almost be changed to look like a "tab" of some sort, just need to integrate the top part of the logo with the banner/cut off the top border. This is all rough work as usual, on my laptop, in my bed so I don't have too much of an intimate editing area (otherwise I would make it tab-like and change the opacity of the area surrounding the M more):

That wouldn't look good at all as a banner imo.

Well that's why it is considered a "logo", I've been trying to incorporate it as a banner but that would require including such text as "Community" and "News" on our different pages. It want to try to incorporate the ESRB rating design a "banner" but I'm not sure what I would put as the sub-text with the M (like for Mature is on that logo)

That's because it is, I didn't modify it at (the part behind the M had some transparency effect to it and it shows best on a white background. I used the original logo with the white background as a basis and it just looks out of place as well because of the color contrast (which is why I kept the transparency to begin with)

I don't like the idea of changing the logo (I think it's just fine the way it is), but I made these concepts in the case that we have to.

The basic gradient concept. I tried staying a bit true to the original with the arrows and the colors.

The "hotspot" concept, with the gradient turned into a radial striped one. It's meant to represent M for Mature as a central hub for technology news and discussions (the radial stripes give a feeling of technology with its "signals" spreading out).

The "hotspot" concept with the "for Mature" text moved closer to the "M".

The "hotspot" concept with a slight gradient on the "M".

The "hotspot" concept as a banner with an elongated strip that can stretch throughout the top of the site. It can be done if the previous concepts' strips are too short.

Keep in mind these are not actual logo "submissions", and are concepts of what can be done.

I've just been tossing ideas out and want to see what you guys can come up with. Have no plans on changing the existing logo/banner - I've just been bored and have been tossing around various ideas
