MfM Math Discussion, Help & Advice

I just don't know how to convert the stuff I have now to the translation and inequality, I know how to graph, just don't know how to get from point a to point b.

can anyone do this one? It was a test question i got wrong, everyone Ive talked to said it cant be solved.

You got to be kidding right?

You need to use the 30-30-90 formula and such.

I don't know if you are being serious or not. :blushing:

Well, two 90 degree angles actually, so you should be able to find at least another two sides on the triangle. Hm, I dunno.

EDIT: Oops, just realised you said 90's, not 90. :P

I just figured it out. The way I did it, you setup 3 separate Pythagorean theorem equations (one for each triangle) and substitute. There might be a different way, but at least I have an answer.

I labeled the sides to make my work easier to read:

EDIT: Sorry about the cursor in there, I just did a printscreen of the Word document.

LaTeX it!

My only camera I can use now is my phone and that along with my crappy handwriting you wont be able to read them

I just put the equations on my TI for the graphs

Edit: Figured it out thanks to chw42
