The PS2 took the crown last gen as the top-selling video game console. While it's too early to decide the victor from the current crop of gaming consoles, Microsoft exec Jeff Bell strongly believes that the Xbox 360 will come out on top.[blockquote2]We very much are positioning ourselves to be the choice console of this generation, much like the PS2 was in the last generation.[/blockquote2]Furthermore, Bell believes that gamers will look to the Xbox 360 if they feel limited by the "type of gameplay that's available or the technology" that the Wii offers. While it could happen, it's hard to imagine the 360 emulating the PS2's success. Right now it doesn't have the same momentum, especially not in Japan, where Microsoft only pushes around 5K units each week.
