Default furnaces given new look
Bones added to the drop table, exclusively for skeleton archers.
Bones can be crafted into Bonemeal.

Tools made out of stone are more durable.

Paintings work in multiplayer
Disconnecting while riding no longer keeps the player in the world

Ability to whitelist is hMod feature, I believe, it's not built into Minecraft vanilla :/

You sure? Either way, doesn't matter too much as I'm not sure that many people will be trying to join who aren't on the whitelist.
If you're worried about griefing, just do it on a temporary map :)
Better than nothing.
 
I've not been utilizing the mods. And I'll take my chances with greifers. I also vote to just update the server. You can update the mods whenever.
 
The only thing we'd miss out on by not making a new map is Lapis Lazuli and therefore blue dye. I'm not terribly concerned about that. Sandstone is craftable from Sand and I've not found it naturally occurring in my freshly made singleplayer world anyway.
