My freinds PSP configuration

I helped my freind downgrade and upgrade his psp to 3.40 OE, It looked like it was working, it ran ISO files, a few days later a few ISO files wouldent load. I went to the recovery menu to check the configuration but all the setting are wrong and he has never gone into it. Any Suggestions...

When I set all the setting to the one on mine some of the games worked, then randomly changed back to the messed up promblem, will the sollution above fix that, and why could this be happening.

If you are using 3.51 M33 it's because the recovery menu is still a bit unstable, if you are using 3.40 OE, you might have put NO-UMD on, which btw, isn't so compatible in DAX FW...

usually darkchilds method works.
ask your friend if he has patched or flashed anything onto psp. like when i flashed a chinese patch into my psp my recovery menu is completely wrecked. usually if this keeps happening i just reflash my psp (back to 1.5 then to 3.40)

Well the thing is my freind does not know how to use custom firmware, and has no idea on how to get to the recovery menu. Could a game change setting in the recovery menu, it seems that after he exits a game the settings get messed. I think I might downgrade again and go up to 3.40, Anyone have experience with the 6th update to 3.51 M333.

my friend had the same problem with his PSP which was running 3.40 OE-A. it just started suddenly. first it would automatically enable the options in recovery, then one day the configuration menu didnt show up so i had to delete the config.se in flash1. after that everything went back to normal.

Yes its true by deleting config.se in flash 1 does bring it back o normal this problem occured in my psp everything in the right places where they should be.

Delete Config.se from flash1
Delete Isocache.bin from ms0:/psp/system

What does the file Config.se do?I have it,and almost everytime I reboot my PSP,some settings has changed automaticly(sorry if i spelled wrong).Does deleting this file help?

From what I've gathered, yes, it should help you in your problem. Sorry I don't sound certain, but I've not had any of these problems so I can't say for sure, bur from what I've read 'n' such it sounds like people with similar problems have had them fixed by doing so.
