Need help installing 3.40 OE-A on JAP PSP!!

This thread question is mainly directed to x3sphere, but others don't hesitate to provide input:
I have a friend that wants me to install D_A's 3.40 OE-A on their Ceramic White Japanese PSP. I believe they're running 2.50, can it be treated normally when upgrading to D_A's cfw? Or, will it not work? This unit was imported from Japan, so are there other risks with installing the cfw, like incompatibilities, or should I not worry about it?

I think you should update do 2.71 and THEN downgrade it, I've heard that the downgrader patches the keys for the motherboard to use 1.50

I think that's what you should do. But it's best to wait for X3

it's okay man. mine is from japan. my friends a Taiwan region PSP. i upgraded with north america update EBOOTS and it's fine. i downgraded right away, ignoring the region, so basically it's the same thing. the region difference is mostly for UMD movies and some particular app (like P-TV for example), and where it's made.
but still wait for x3 to answer, lolXD
