Newb Question about PS1 emulation

I'm using the 3.10 OE firmware and I 'm using a couple of PS1 games, I was wondering if the psp could handle games that used the extra shoulder buttons or analog stick?

it doesn't, just the original PS1 controller is emulated (one without dual analog). the only game that comes to mind which actually used the second stick is Ape Escape (unplayable because of this unfortunately)

so basically you either substitute the analog for the d-pad or vise versa, then either one is your L2 and R2 buttons. thats how they make up for the lack of buttons. if you go into the controller config theres a few setups to choose from
