Hello, I just recently acquired a psp that has an older firmware and I want to upgrade it. I'm not too sure whether I'm doing this correctly so I just need some guidance.

My psp is psp-100x.
current firmware stated in the psp: 3.80 M33-5.

My question is: can I go straight into downloading the latest firmware in this thread? http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=9218

Download the files that are stated "Download PSP Custom Firmware 5.00 M33 / 500.PBP"

Upgrade the 500.PBP first, and then paste the custom firmware in :X/PSP/GAME.

Is this correct? (I'm very scared I'll brick the psp or something >_<)

you have to place the 500.PBP in the 5.00m33 update folder
the update folder goes in psp/game
thats it

Okaaay. So this means I can just ignore all the previous firmwares and jump straight?

I add the 500.PBP into the :X/PSP/GAME/UPDATE plus the firmware into the folder as well.

Thats Exactly what he means, as you have M33 already, you can go straight to 5.00M33. If you are online with your PSP you can network update to 5.00M33. Easier still
 
Okay, the psp's software version now is 5.00 M33-6. It's working!

Hi i would like to ask about my PSP
I have a mobo TA-88v3 i able to identify it by using PSPident..
as of now im in 5.03 MHU using 3.60 CFW via chickhenR2
Now my question is is my PSP capable on loading Emulators such as snes and GBA and other emulators?
because i want to play some old fashion games... hope you can help me
It would really help a lot....tnx..

you mean CFE?
i would personally use 5.03GEN because it has more features, and it should let you run emulators.
