A last minute "mechanical issue" has delayed shipments of Nvidia's Android-powered portable gaming device, which was previously slated to launch tomorrow. While the company isn't ready to commit to a revised date, it assures that the Nvidia Shield will hit shelves sometime next month in July.
Specifically, Nvidia says the issue relates to a third-party component, and is "working around the clock with the supplier" to get things up to snuff.
Although it goes without saying a sudden delay like this is disappointing, it's good that Nvidia isn't rushing the hardware out just to meet an arbitrary release date, and risk possible complications later on.
