Publisher Atlus has sent word that RPG classics Odin Sphere and Disgaea are finally joining PS2's Greatest Hits roster. While no specific release date was provided, expect the two to hit retailers next month in September, complete with an updated box cover sporting the not so aesthetically pleasing red GH label.

As with all PS2 Greatest Hits reprints, both titles will carry a retail price point of $19.99. That being said, if you haven't played either one of these gems yet -- what are you waiting for?

Oh God more PS2 news....... i think Sony need to really Discontinue their PS2 and make all versions of the PS3 BAckwards Compatible.... how eles would Sony Sell any "Next Gen" Consoles when their haven't done what their Competition has Done few Years Back (Discontinue the Earlier Products)

Nintendo : Discontinued the Game Cube
M$ : Discontinued the Orginal Black Box
Sony : WTH??? are you still trying to pinch as much as you can with the PS2 it's all about Next Gen now. Focus on the New

Because there is a very LARGE portion of people that can't afford a PS3 and $50 price point per game.

With retail sales slumping due to economy here in the USA it's a good move by them.

There are millions of pre-teen kids that have a PS2 that parents will by a $19.99 game as opposed to getting HDTV + PS3 + $50 per game.

B2K24, that holds true, but look at the LARGE following of the 360 when it was "over priced" along with games, just like the PS3 was, but still hords of people went out and got one.

Yeah the PS3 is still over priced (for one they still didn't do another logical Price drop, 2 they didn't make the cheap version backwards compatible making all PS2 gamers still stick with their PS2's, 3 the cost of making a Blu Ray disc is still over priced making the Games/Movies still alot more cost wise then that of a DVD, 4 Also sony believes that they can sell units with their Flagship games....... what flagship games lol FF13 is on both the 360 and PS3, Star ocean, the Tales of series went the say of the 360, GTA was a PS exclusive till M$ showed em the money, the only game at he moment that actually helped sell the PS3 console isn't GT5:Proluge but MGS4)

To each their own, i for one still by PS2 games not due to the cost, but due to the fact there are still a few games out there that are worth the purchase on the PS2. Still if sony were to Drop the PS2 system, and just implement the Backwards compatibility to all versions of the PS3 along with Price drops (for both the sytem and games) to "compete" with the competition which at this point is obvious that Sony doesn't want to since they think the PS3 is "going strong". I believe a PS2 will last longer then it already needs be. Plus you really dont need an HDTV to play a PS3 i still don't own one and i dont plan on getting a HDTV set until it's absolutely nessesary.

I like the idea that some companies are still putting out PS2 games. You don't need HD or motion controls to make a good game.
