If EA would give us access to use the Origin login for authenticating accounts (like we have with Xbox and Steam) then we could probably do the same.

Really don't know who to contact at EA about it however. They don't seem to have a public developer program or anything. I tried contacting a PR person there to see if they could get me in touch with the right person.

I think they are broken, on EA Answers HQ someone reported the same:

Hi, can't find this posted anywhere... do new games added take some time before achievements register or something? I definitely have done some basic ones in My Time at Portia and they don't seem to be registering :) Just an achievement hunter looking for answers ;)

Also just a thought, on Reddit I see that Origin might by under DDoS attack so it might be that Origin is like offline or not connecting to servers right I think that also could prevent achievements from popping up
