A Nintendo representative has revealed that the original Nintendo DS version of the upcoming Opera-developed internet browser, due out June 4, will be sold exclusively through online channels. The Nintendo DS Lite version, on the other hand, will be offered across all North American retail stores. Both versions will set you back $34.99 when they come out.
Why is Nintendo holding back the original DS browser from retail? Well, it's probably due to marketing reasons. I'm willing to bet the average consumer will not take notice of the online offer, and if they see only the DS Lite version in stores... then it might make them more inclined to purchase a DS Lite.
