Pandora stuck at formatting flash0, nand recovery questions

Am hoping someone here can help.

Have a FAT PSP which is fully bricked.

After turning on I get a black screen, the GREEN power LED stays on for while and then shuts off.

Tried Pandora but the formatting of the flash doesn't get far, it gets stuck forever at "Formatting flash0....".

Snooped around and heard that I must have damaged the NAND of my PSP, the IDstorage keys or something; and that I need to be checking for bad blocks with the nandTool (below site), and repartitioning/replacing the NAND using the following tools from the below site:-

http://nds.cmamod.com

nandTool beta 0.3
Cleaned fat PSP .flash

Will appreciate if the gurus here can enlighten/redirect/walk me through, thanks a lot!

Some times it's jsut stuck.
Give it a few more tries.

and sure, use KC, nandTool, all that and let those analyze your mobo before you pandora again.

Ace,

Thanks for the reply.

People did tell me about trying the Pandora a couple more times; and it didn't come unstuck.

I am trying to read up more on the Cory nandTool, and like to see whether any here is able to help.

Yes, I would try repartitioning the lflash using NAND Tool. That should fix your problem. Backup the NAND before doing it though just in case.

Same Problem

I have this same problem. I used nandtool .3 beta and the lflash thing didn't work. It says "ran out of nand for lflash" and freezes.

@epiphone - Do not flash cleaned NAND to your PSP unless you have a full back up of the id keys, as the cleaned images will not have the keys specific to your PSP.

Use dcv8, make a mms out of that, and then everything should be fine from there. You do have a memorycard reader right?
