Good afternoon folks,

im fairly new to the Homebrew scene with my PSP and i have a question that i havent seen asked anywhere else..so maybe im just slightly stupid in asking this in the first place, so please excuse me! :D

I just recently installed the newest dark alex firmware and have been having a blast with everything. my question is that because im using this firmware will playing or signing up to the PSP features via PSP alter my psp in anyway? or get me banned from the gaming network?

I have been reluctant to sign up to it since i installed the firmware in case there is a system in place of obtaining firmware details of the PSP and altering the console via mac address.

Anyway, hopefully some one will have a answer for my question.

Worry not. I have signed up to the PSN store and currently use it. CFW is not illegal, just voids your warranty.

Depends in what respect, having CFW is not a crime, the actual use of it for other means would be considered Illegal (for instance, playing games obtained illegally etc).
