Late last year Sony Ericsson pitched the idea of a PlayStation phone to the board of directors at Sony. Sony, has again, refused to allow the licensing of their PlayStation brand to Ericsson, saying that if they were to license their PlayStation brand it would only happen if and when Sony decides to to manufacture handsets independently. Sources have made clear that the refusal to sanction the brand on the handsets back in December has suggested a fallout between Sony and the mobile phone joint venture. Those who were looking forward to Sony's combatant against the Apple iPhone, and possibly a PSP that would double as a mobile phone, will just have to wait and see what the company decides to do in the coming future.
