Don't know for certain that you can do this on PSP, I'll confirm later but you can definitely do it on the PS3.

Yeah you can, they added virtual controller support recently.

Nope, it's because not all regions get the same updates.

That was the "official" PC solution but I could never figure it out, I eventually had to deal with a "patched" version of the game which meant that using the keyboard (even if you never were using the gamepad) would work as a 2nd controller port controller.

Doesn't look like any of the PAL stores got it.

Will probably be next week for us (like FF7 came out the day it was announced at E3 for the US store but EU store had to wait until the usual thursday update).
