Due to an increase in spam activity we have decided to permanently disable access to the private message system for new registrations. Accounts with at least 10 posts that have been registered for at least one month will be allowed to send PMs. If you have a legitimate reason, exceptions to this rule will be granted - contact us at: info@exophase.com.

Omg, is this fate? On another forums, where I'm a super mod, it apppeared like 10 spammers today! But it was all related to porn!

Fortunatelly I'm hated by all and do NOT receive any PMs whatsoever =)

Anyways, good job X3, should put a human check on the registration too :)

weird...i don't get many PM's at all...guess nobody cares enough to spam me either...ahha.ah well

I think they avoided spamming the staff. I didn't get one either, but I checked the database and around 1000 PMs were sent to regular users.

So even though the thread is old, does it still apply? You're saying I must wait a month in order to have the PM system enabled?

The policy is still in effect, yes. Since you're obviously not a spammer, I will enable private messages on your account. I usually do so if people ask me.

Anyway, this requirement has been successful in completely weeding out PM spam on the forums, so there are no plans to remove it at the moment. Though I suppose the wait time could be lessened to a week now.

Oh okay, I understand now. Thanks.

We should increase this to wall posts to, i havent gotten any spam on my wall, but im sure people have, and that should help keep this site even cleaner.
