Sony has released the feature list for the upcoming PS3 firmware 1.90, including some much-anticipated features such as bookmarks, emoticons, and XMB backgrounds.

Update: The firmware is now available! Grab it from Network Update or download here.

  • Ability to rearrange games on the XMB
  • Option menu now includes "eject disk"
  • Press triangle to eject games/CDs/movies in the XMB
  • XMB backgrounds
  • Change the folder classification
  • Emoticons
  • Change CD output to 44.1/88.2/176.4kHz
  • Force 24Hz output for Blu-ray over HDMI
  • Change PS3 video settings in-game
  • "Bit Mapping" in the "Music Setting"
  • Save AVCHD type animations from a Memory Stick
  • Change settings like upscaling while playing PS and PS2 games
  • Add bookmarks
  • Web browser security function in the browser's tool section
  • Avatar moves during audio visual chat

Good news, I hope that I can move pics around to a specific folder instead of the sorting method in use now. Some pics I have can't be edited and I just didn't like the way they are sorted in the first place.
 
It's HERE!! I'm updating my system as I write this post with the new 1.90 firmware!! :D Ooooh I can't wait! I'll make another post when it's finished. :D

Sorry for the double post but the North American Playstation site doesn't have the update yet. Should I update using this version of 1.90?

Awaiting an answer before doing so.....
