I've been playing Rock Band Unplugged for 3 days now but the songs are not really what I want so I'm looking for a way to allow CFW 5.00 M33-6 to access the PSN so I can by the downloadable songs there.

I've heard that PSN Store blocked on M33 Custom Firmware so edit the version.txt does not working anymore but it will work in 5.50 GEN. But since the OFW 6.10 is available for download now I'm wondering if I update to 5.50 GEN and then edit version.txt to 6.10 will PSN let me though ??? :confused1:

PS: Since last downgrade from 5.50 GEN-A back to 5.00 M330-4 has made the DC v8 does not work anymore so if it is not necessary I really don't want to update my firmware.

Pretty sure it will not, although you could access PSN via your Pc and get the required that way
 
I would think but cannot confirm that the update would come as a eboot, which would install the updated elements. So, ad long as the eboot is in the right folder it should be able to run.
