PSN - Memory Stick Support

Okay I have 3 memory sticks

#1 4GB MG Unkown
#2 4GB MG Supported
#3 1Gb MG Supported

Running a PSP Slim with M33 5.00. When this CFW came out I upgraded from M33 4.01 and DL'd demo off the PSN Store. The game is working on MS #3, however whenever I try to DL games to MS's #1 or #2, I get the error message "game could not be started"

I did find a work around that some one posted about the error code. But my question is, Did I do something wrong for it not to work on the other sticks. The strange thing is one is Magic Gate Supported while the other is a Fake.

I have tried formating throught the PSP all the MS's that dont run the Demos I DL from the site.

Any suggestions to get things runnin like they are on the 1GB MS?

# 1 ia fake,

#3 is real

#2 is more then 1 gig which tends to cause issues

I think the problem is it is more then standard capicity, forgive my spelling im drunk celebrating a new job. The fact it works on authentic 1 gig and no other makes me think this is the cause for problems.

Thanks for the reply

But from my understanding people are using some of the larger MS (Fake and Real) with PSNSTORE or am I off base here?

There was a bug in the firmware but that only affected Memory Sticks 8GB or larger in size. That said, my guess is that the 4GB sticks you have are fake. Not having MagicGate support is usually an indicator that the stick is fake, but not always. Even sticks that show up as supporting MagicGate can be fake...

I'd try formatting the stick through Windows instead of on the PSP. Maybe you'll have better luck that way.

Right that is understood I do know for a fact that one of the 4GB sticks is from WalMart so I dont see it as being a fake but you never know.

And sorry for the dumb question but you gave me a segway...when it is said to format using Windows, you mean XP and can you do it through the psp or do you have to have a reader?

You can do it while connected via USB. Right click on the memory stick and hit format. Also yeah if you bought it from Walmart then it is likely not a fake.
