According to an Engadget Japan report, the recently announced PSP-3000 model will boast an LCD response time that is twice as fast compared to the current Slim model. That means there should be significantly less ghosting and color bleeding -- a widespread complaint with previous iterations of the hardware.

Additionally, the PSP-3000 LCD will feature five times the contrast ratio and double the color gamut. Looks like they've suckered me into buying a third PSP now :'(

once D_A gets CFW on it , and sony releases a white one in north america , just maybe I'll buy it

Hmmmz no homebrew yet, so i can't play any BoR yet.

well i may buy into this new PSP when things are looking up.

(makes me believe with all these PSP alterations, Sony is kinda doing why Nintendo did with the "game boy" made one better then the previous ones lol)

srry but how much better will that make the screen.

Wow.. I actually kinda want one now :|

I'll wait and see what DaX comes up with.

If it's CFW-proof, I probably won't buy it.

That's incredible, you could play it outside without having to shade the screen.

The image in the "PSP-3000" screen looks very photoshopped. If it's a legit pic, then amazing, but I really doubt it.

what IS THE POINT in having a THIRD version of the hardware, when meanwhile there are virtually no more (interesting) games released ?!

I already bought a second one when the slim came out, but appart from Crisis Core (which even it gets boring as hell quite fast), I haven't come accross a single game in which i stay interested more than... let's say... 10min?

I don't want any new hardware! why doesn't sony put it's money in making interesting RPG/AdventureRPG's relying on well thought STORIES and SCENARII (NOT the beat'm all stuff Square fashionably called 'action-RPG')

The point is to try to placate the Nervous Nellies, the bean counters at third party developers, so they don't pull their support for the PSP. The PSP just recently lost a few, all claiming piracy as the reason. Sony had to be seen as doing something to keep others from jumping ship. They probably didn't want to bring it out this soon, but had their hand forced by recent defections.
