PSP-3000 LCD Has Improved Response Time, Twice As Fast

The point is to try to placate the Nervous Nellies, the bean counters at third party developers, so they don't pull their support for the PSP. The PSP just recently lost a few, all claiming piracy as the reason. Sony had to be seen as doing something to keep others from jumping ship. They probably didn't want to bring it out this soon, but had their hand forced by recent defections.

I 100% agree with the quoted statement however the DS is being pirated to hell and back yet with that handheld it's a complete different story.
no new hardware revisions and games dropping like stores change out their produce items. No developers or anyone seems to give a crap about how much the handheld is pirated. A big WTF is in order me thinks.

Hypocrisy is rampant in the world of media - big-name singers come out for the RIAA while piracy helps make their concerts even bigger. Game distributors cry over losing their shirts to pirates even as they sell a million units of the latest game. When they turn out crap, they can't admit they did so and blame piracy for the lack of sales.

The DS is slightly better off in regards to putting out crap since it's aimed at kids. Kids are notorious for their lack of discernment when it comes to quality - they just want the latest game because they're bored with the old stuff and all their friends have the latest. The PSP is aimed at a market that wants more for their money... Sony just wishes they had Nintendo's market to sell to. :)
