Homebrew working on all PSP firmware (even 5.02) with a Phantasy Star Portable GameSave Exploit!

Justwhat does this do, need you ask? Well, it only lets you, PSP owner, on ANY firmware the ability to play homebrew applications, games and emulators till our hearts content or till we explode from nostalgia. So without further ado check out the simple steps for running Fanjita's oober-cool hack at Brite.

Guide for running the developed Phantasy Star Portable Exploit:
Check that you have an Japan or US version of Phantasy Star Portable (Japan:
ULJM-05309, US: ULUS-10410). Work on the European version will be following soon.

Extract the contents of the 'MS_ROOT' folder from the ZIP file into the top-level of your memory stick. (HINT: If you wind up with an 'MS_ROOT' folder on the stick, you've done it wrong).
Start the game, and as soon as it gets to the 'Press START' screen, press START. If you wait until the demo has started, the exploit may not work.
The screen should go blank, and the exploit will start after a few moments. It doesn't do anything except look pretty at this stage - but feel free to enjoy the first homebrew on your PSP Brite.

This is quite possibly the lamest April Fools joke I've witnessed all day. But hey, leave it to the folks over at QJ.

Closing this thread since the article is bogus.

All sources point to this being a lame April Fools joke. Fanjita seldom acts alone (and even if he does, he does so under the Noobz name) so you'd expect him to post an article on his own website before giving it to any media, but he hasn't.

Furthermore, if you download the file, you'll find only a readme.txt that says:
Lame QJ April Fools Readme said:
The Grand Return of Fanjita

Congratulations! You've unlocked our special QJ Greeting for April Fool's Day! ^_^

If you look close enough, the instructions presented is just the famed Lumines Exploit, tweaked a bit to make it the fully-developed Phantasy Star Portable Exploit.

We know, you're disappointed. But don't worry, we'll make it up to you. When the real thing does land, we'll deliver it to you straight off the hot, sizzling platter, wrapped in gold ribbons and all that jazz.

Okay, maybe the gold ribbons are too much. But, if and when the PSP-3000 finally becomes fully hacked, we'll be the first to let you know.

Thanks for being a sport, and Happy April Fool's (or what's left of it).

I really hate this day. Sure, it's all in good fun...but when you have to field a million questions about this stupid article for the next month, it's not so fun. Tasteless April Fools on QJ's part.

A few of our staff are well connected within the scene and can verify these things quite easily but this article alone doesn't even need us to ask around, all you have to do is look at the source for the exploit. Nonetheless, for any rumour that may pop up, please look to our frontpage. If it is not mentioned there (without the Rumour prefix), then it is a rumour as we verify all our news before posting (unlike most news sites out there).

You'll only find high quality valid news on our site.

If you would like to discuss this topic, please do so in a more obviously named thread, like our April Fools one.
