PSP 6.20 Save Data Exploit Released. Hello World 6.20!E loader on the way

and from what I've been hearing, get ready for some more epic drama.

Thank God it's not centered here this time.

I am already running iso's on my psp 3000 5.03mhu

any problem

I haven't heard that before. Not at all.

and from what I've been hearing, get ready for some more epic drama.

Yup yup.

The last time I was willing to participate was with the whole FreePlay thing because he released source that was not his, and that makes me rather irate. It'd be the equivalent of coming up with a huge internal company product that's awesome, keeping it to yourself until the time comes, then going ahead and creating your own company, using that product, then insulting your previous company. In fact, the amount of respect I have for freeplay is in the negatives, because that's a huge ass scumbag move.

its backups of my umd because my umd drive is gone crazy

Stop the fighting guys, Im in no mood to clean up your mess. Thanks for the info DarkGamer, an article will be written up in a few hours...stupid education of mine

Agreed. I'll clean up my post aswell.

How many FW exploits have been released all time? which in turn forces Sony devs to spend time and money creating firmware updates to fix flaws?
Why doesn't Sony silently support homebrew, and not ISO, where most of the public would be unaware anyway, so everybody can win.

I would buy a GO if i could run homebrew and emulators, PLUS access the PSN to buy content would make the GO a dream machine for me. Problem is we can't have both so choosing between the 2 I would have to choose homebrew which means Sony looses money in sales because PSN is locked out :(

That's kinda impossible. Word spreads fast.

1.00 supported homebrew (Not officially, but it was a debug firmware, and didn't do any checks, not to mention Puzzle Bobble having debug symbols left in), and 1.50 kinda supported homebrew (An exploit, with horrible security). What started off as homebrew ended up with custom firmwares.

It's too bad.

There's so much talent in the PSP scene. I've never understood all the drama in this scene however. I followed the Dreamcast, PS1, PS2 scenes and nothing compares to the sheer drama involved in the PSP scene, everyone fighting over fame. The truth is all the 13 year olds and pirates don't care about WHO made their exploit, just that they don't have to buy games.

It's not really fair to say everyone wanting an ISO loader for the GO is a pirate. I carried my psp1k everywhere full of ISO's i ripped myself because i didn't want to have to carry a pocket full of UMDs. When I cracked the LCD and upgraded to the GO i got cheated. BAD. I was fully prepared to pay for some games again, but they either weren't available on PSN, or cost more than I could buy them for at retail. Seriously, FF Tactics original but no war of the lions? No Crisis Core? I just want to play the games I've already bought. I loved my PSP because with homebrew it had the best possible lineup of games of any portable, hands down. Stable emulators, POPS, Wagic, all on top of the already not too bad PSP lineup.

It all violates the DMCA, even emulators, reverse engineering and exploiting system software. With the advent of "virtual console" emulators can no longer be called a gray area, they are still trying to make money off those titles. So I am a pirate, for playing Castlevania Adventure 2, Super Mario Bros 3, ROM hacks of Super Mario World, or a ripped version of Tactics Ogre.

As I am still stuck in the 1980-ies & 1990-ies. Just cant wait to play arkanoid and such on the "go".

And yes I do have a c64, nes and such, and even the original games. Except for the c64, my taperecorder ate my tape where that game was on. And my arkanoid nes cartridge just dont fit in my psp's...

So I am a very, very happy man!

Personally I like those old games more than the recent ones (umd and digital download), but again thats personal!

So,

Malloxis, m0skito, n00b81, and wololo,

Thank you so much! Now I can bring my pspgo with me and do my thing (in the near future)

hate to burst your bubble, but emulator's are no different then iso loader's, unless your ripping the rom's yourself, their still copyrighted to their respected companies

This is what happens. Look at it this way, wololo releases his excellent resource on finding exploits in savedata parsing on his site. Malloxis finds the same exploit as a few others and wololo says that they'll write an eLoader and release it when it's done alongside the exploit. Malloxis can't even wait this long, and decides to releases basically shoving all credit to him.

Notice how the whole scenario was on the scenes side, then a end-user comes along and fucks it all up? Check it this way, US DEVELOPERS TRY TO GIVE YOU WANT YOU WANT SOMETIMES, BUT IT'S NEVER GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU!

I wasn't involved in this, but I'm absolutely disgusted by this. Once again, the end-users fuck around the developers. Just wait though, you'll end up fucking up to a point where they'll be no skilled developers like wololo and m0skit0 left. I don't think they are thrown in the towel, but I can probably bet that their focus has been changed.

Correction: was so much talent. The little that's left is being picked off one by one.

More or less it truly is a shame. With the way thing's are going the end is pretty much on the way at this rate (Not the actual end, but quite close to it in term's of lacking respect). When people realize that the hand that feed's you is no longer around, that's when they realize their wrong doing's. However a mere 'sorry' doesn't cut it anymore around here it seem's.

First of all, apologies if this offends anyone but i just had to get this off my chest. As much as I think its a shame this exploit got released early before it was fully developed i'm quite glad it has been, mostly for the fact the half byte loaders source has been released into the open as a direct result of this.

I read on another site how its a shame the decent psp devs have split into little 'clans' and seem to compete for fame, and we all know its true, there is no more 'community' in the psp scene, just leechers who get what they can from whats around and devs who sit on their high ground shaking their heads at what has become of those they develop for. but what do expect when there are CFW's out there that can do so much for those lucky enough to be on certains OFWs, and then when those who are deprived of these amazing things devs get annoyed with the begging for more when its been proved it can be done or it has been done and noones getting it (like team typhoon flaunting their Proof of concept PSP GO CFW 6.10 like a punishment for those who demand it).

By all means fight your corners but i'm one of those lucky enough to have a psp 3000 on 5.03 so i've been sitting on the sidelines watching the chaos and this is how i see things: the devs focus has gone onto pirates and thus those who use CFW/Homebrew for their intended use are being punished for the actions of those who misuse.

What the scene could really do with is a combined effort from those with the knowledge to do amazing things with the psp to make something great with this eloader. I mean i would love a CFW to come out of all this as the main thing i use CFW for is the great plugins out there.

I guess what i'm trying to say is at the end of the day, harsh as it may seem, the devs would be nothing if it wasnt for those who actually use their programs, i hope the devs havent forgotten this.

I stopped reading your post there, since it's obvious you have NO idea what you're talking about.

We never released not because it was demanded (maybe we would, maybe we wouldn't), but rather because of the utter disrespect for Davee and all his hard work on the 5.03HEN (which incidentally you seem to use) and the rise of the lamers like Xenogears and Becus25 that god heralded as gods for copying and pasting code, when Davee did all the hard work, which included finding a kmode exploit, which most of you out there have NO idea how hard is to find.

If that leaves you wondering who I am, I'm Neon from the dead Team Typhoon.

The PSP Scene is reaping what it sow.

Also, learn to organize your post... Most people won't read it because it's a huge wall of text.

As i said apologies if it did offend anyone. I had no idea about the disrespect for Davee guess I shudve done a little more background checking, not really on the thread subject but what exactly happened?! Isn't xenogears one of the 5.03mhu devs?
Anyway it was just my opinion as someone on the sidelines, i am eternally grateful for everything that devs past and present have done for the psp but lately the trust issues (and copy paste devs as you said) in the scene have caused countless devs to either be reluctant to help and or just plain leave the scene, thus there is so much talk lately about the scene being dead or at least on its last legs. i was just saying i hope the devs can unite and work with the half byte loader source to make something truly amazing, and i hope that people can learn from the past fails of stealing code like the "freeplay exploit" incident that fame is short lived once the truth is out. I have faith the scene.
