It's here! Dark_AleX has finally released custom firmware 3.80 M33 to the masses. As per usual, the latest edition in the M33 firmware series features all the enhancements included in official firmware 3.80, plus a load of extras.

Specific changes and bug fixes are outlined below.
* HEN core: user mode can load now signchecked files from flash.
* recovery: flash1 format will create flash1 directories after format.
This could fix some flash1 issues with the previous versions.
* Network update from dark-alex.org page. By default is enabled.
You can turn it off in recovery (when off, network update will download sony updates as usual).
* Nids resolver for various kernel libraries.
In addition, Alex notes that popsloader in its current form will not work with 3.80 M33. A new version compatible with 3.80 M33 will be released shortly.

Check out our 3.80 M33 install guide for detailed setup and installation instructions.

Update: Dark_AleX has sent word that a 1.5 kernel add-on for regular PSP units is currently in the works. Expect a release soon.

Update 2: Dark_AleX has released a bug fix update to the initial 3.80 M33 release. Download 3.80 M33-2 here.

Awesome!
*Waits for Popsloader*

So... is there any word of DAX releasing a 3.80 M33 version for it?

I just talked to Math, there doesn't seem to be any plans to create a 1.50 kernel add-on at the moment. Right now the NID resolver is still being worked on. It's functional in the current release, but isn't totally completed yet, so there will be updates for that eventually.

Eh.. what does the NID resolver do again?

It basically redirects functions contained in older applications so that they are compatible with 3.80 M33 due to changes Sony made in 3.80. It was primarily designed for 3.X applications though, not sure how well it will work with 1.5 kernel apps. I don't have any 1.5 apps on my MS, but if you want me to test something then let me know.

For me, atleast, the programs I use have a 3x version so the 150 kernel isn't that big a deal but I only have the 150 version of Dax UMD dumper and I'm not even sure if another version was released for 271 (at that time) or not.I know there are other updated methods but it's quick and to the point.

Side note:Can someone point me in the right direction for Dax's PS Store PS1 game decrypter? I know it was discontinued but I need it for some research.Yeah..that's the ticket...

I don't think DA should keep working on the 1.50 kernel patches.

Again, thanks a lot, Alex!

im on 3.52 m33-4. and when i run the update it says "this program will run on 3.52 m33-3 or higher..so does that mean i have to be on 3.52 m33-3 or 3.71 m33 or so to run this update?

According to the readme it works on 3.52 M33-3 and up. Personally I installed it from 3.71 M33.

Are you sure the Game folder kernel setting is set to 3.52 in the Recovery Menu?
