Those thirsting for a stylistic 2D anime fighter on PSP need look no further, as Capcom announced today that its forthcoming anime fighter Fate/unlimited codes is on track for a summer 2009 release in North America.
In development by the same team responsible for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, the title promises to deliver a "compelling combat experience," complete with a deep roster of characters backed by gorgeous 2D watercolor-like backdrops. To add an extra layer of depth, each combatant is supplemented with an unique array of causal-friendly special moves. Featured in the PSP rendition is local ad-hoc play, allowing two players to face off between each other across two PSP units wirelessly.
In a Capcom first on handhelds, Fate/unlimited codes will be sold exclusively through the PSP Store. If you were expecting a discount because of this, think again. Pricing is set at $29.99, putting it in the same league as retail efforts.
