hello, my first post on your forum
i'm one of the online helper for 5.03GEN-A and we provide support for this CF
i personnaly recommend the use of the 5.03GEN-A (Full) on PSP 3000
a member on our forum made a nice HEX comparison of both and the result :
on right the original, on left the CFW
and i want to say that i'm only a volunteer and i'm not involved in any dev'process on psp, only a psp 3000 user but when you check in the read-me in the CFW, they didn't thank the psp-gen team for their work they only copied
and it seems that a lot of CFW users have problem with it

The GEN can too with the Davee's spoofer
So the GEN can use the spoofer? I thought it was just for 100% CFW'ed PSPs (like 1000s and 2000s) I will have to look into using that if so.

thnx kain......CFW (from Xenogears and Becus25 was released since version 2.00.......before of GEN-A (first to be compatible with 3000).
CFW 3.01 at know is better because:
blocks official actualizations
CFWEnabler Online Update(soon)
plugins compatible
VSH menu with a lot of options
registry hacks
configuration of cpu speed.............a lot more...
and the most principal.......safe
..
but all of this cant be possible without the DAVEE work.........dsnt matter who is better, thanx to PSP GEN-A team and Xenogears, bacus25, DA, and mformature and all the friendly forums around the world..........

I think the problem is largely in part because the developers of CFWE didn't even ask if they could take the modules from the GEN cfw. They just took them and made their own app PSP-3000 compatible since they aren't capable of doing it themselves. It seems a tad bit like stealing, even if they say where they got them from.
Asking permission would have been fine, but as far as I know, they never did that.

CFWe 3.01 (M33):
- Online update
- More compatible
- More stable
- Safer

GEN-A 5.03:

- POPS & Game Gategories pre-installed (can easily be installed in M33)
- Virtual Recovery Menu
- Not as many bugs as in CFWe (plugins work very well) because this is not made by crappy devs

I guess, if we're talking 'bout psp 3000, these arguments are doubtful!
1. why should CFE be more compatible???
AFAIK, GEN uses reversed M33 (original) modules, so.. guess, compatibility is same (if not even better)
2. why should CFE be more stable???
It uses "Copied-Pasted" parts for psp3k from GEN.
3. Safer?
neither CFE nor GEN does overwrite any files in f0.
4. IS GEN SLOW?!?

)You're kidding, right? If the devs aren't capable of handling thier own CFWe development, then how come it's more stable than GEN-A? Moreover, just because CFWe have most of the same filenames as GEN-A does not mean they have stolen thier work. Even if they did, then that would contradict the fact that Xeno and B25 added the credit section in the README file. Remember that CFWe is a M33 release.
Anyway, a lot of people I know have had problems with GEN-A. They have switched over to CFWe 3.01 and now thier problems are no longer existent.
