Psp wireless range extender

just wondering if there is any homebrew app out there that increases the wifi signal range or somethin like that? No, i dont have a router or usb adapter... and money is tight. So if there isnt could anyone siggest a very affordable way to initiate wifi on my computer?:sleep:
 
Exactly how tight is money? The cheapest wireless router on Newegg is $20, and it's got generally good reviews.

thats in my range and is very good but im looking for something in store that i could drive to get like at target or walmart or sumthin...:D:p
 
I'm not sure you can find something that cheap in store. But if you want a big selection with a pretty good price range, I'd go with Frys Electronics. Frys is where I usually go for all my in-store electronic buys.

but.. thats a little out of my range im buying it myself and i need a cheap solution like between 20-27 dollars and thats still kinda pushin it. theres nothin that can increase the psp's wifi signal? any homade stuff i could do?? but anyway thanks blacksheep. +rep
 
There isn't any software based way to increase the range. There was an old hardware hack for the 1000 that stuck on an antenna, but it killed the portability of the PSP and made it hard to hold.
 
i see... i hope one comes out soon.. but im just hoping for a solution thats cheap and fast my best solution right now is wifi max at circuit city thanks +rep for u!
 
What's there to learn about? You open the PSP and replace the antenna with a HUGE aerial rather than a small wire inside the case.

Word of warning about the WIFI Max, it's a cheap system and doesn't hold a connection as well as real routers. It's also quite bad for online gaming due to stability issues.

You could increase the TX voltage and adjust the ACK timing on the router, but that's about it. Any changes made to the PSP could only affect upload speeds afaik.
 
I've seen the ones for laptops...my bro's girlfriend could excess the internet in the car while were moving to places. Are you looking for that?
 
He's talking about a USB AP, not a broadband card or a USB Client.
