PSP wont turn on but it shouldnt be bricked

hello, i upgraded a psp using the universal unbricker trick to upgrade the firmware to 5.00 mww-4

it worked fine for months, but i was running snes9xtyl emulator and it froze and then i turned the psp off to then turn it back on,which ive done various times in the past, however now the power light jsut turns on for a few seconds and then shuts off, the psp will not turn on at all and i even put mypandora battery and amgic stick in and it still wont turn on

any ideas, is it bricked

i used the pandora battery and magic stick to upgrade it and with pandora battery i thought you coudlnt brick psp and that you could always unbrick it if you did

so what shall i do

Are you sure nothing is wrong with your battery or magic memory stick? The only real way to check this is to test it on another working PSP though.

Regardless, though, this sounds like a hardware failure. What you can try is remove the MS and boot up with only the AC adapter inserted to ensure that any external files are not interfering with the startup process. If the same behavior occurs it is most definitely a hardware issue. Possibly one of the internal components short out.

I would agree, thats not a brick.

Sounds more like the backlight has gone on the screen, which often results in the symptom of the psp turning on, and the green light blinking out after 1-2 secs (although in hardware terms, in could be one of 3-4 things)

If it was bricked the green light would stay on.

Can you enter recovery mode or anything?

Otherwise as x3sphere has said try another battery, try ac power etc etc

well i used the same pandora battery and MMS to upgrade a psp to 5.00m33-4, so its not that

i did try tunring it on with the adapter plugged in but i left the memory stick and battery in the psp

Hardware failures are allot more common now. The newer psp models do seem more seseptable, I work for an electronics store that sends them in for repair. Ive been trying to pandora all the failures and have realized the part that seems to be failing is the memory that natively holds the theme. Ive seen a varity of failures rendering the psp inoperatable via different methods. Bottom line the psp boots but fails to properly load the xmp theme. I think its a simple issue of lower quality memory.

so any ideas on how i can get the psp working again

can you add some info about what you have done to your psp about other applications that you used.
we don't know what actually happens on your PSP., where not in your side when your doing anything on it!!!:sad::closedeyes: so maybe try to add some more new info about things on it!
and maybe this must be in hardware failure!!!.

Have you re-formatted the MS and tried again?

You have you tried removing the screen and powering it back on without a screen in?

If pandora does not work it is more likely a hardware fault, you seemed convinced it is a software failure.

I cant tell you how many psp's i have repaired with those symptoms and the screen is the fault.
