Quick Questions regarding the HEN to come :

Aragorn38

Mature User :)
Hello all,

Don't worry, i'm not gonna ask again the random reccurent questions that are polluting the main thread. :)

So as i'm pretty new to the unofficial stuff for the PSP as i got my first one only 5-6 months ago and obviously it is a PSP-3000... so :

- Are all the HENs have an history of all working in the very same (or approximate same) way ? If yes, where could i find the info regarding how to install/run the HEN to come ? (If not, i assume a readme or any other kind of info is gonna be provided)

- As i could use some free-time to prepare myself, is there any thread or any external website in which i could find a "top-rated"/"top-popular" list of existing homebrews ?

- As a particular question, are there any homebrews GAMES around worthing the time to make them run ?

- Because i'm thinking at it right now so i did not search the easy-to-find answer : Emulators seems to be pretty popular for the PSP, how big in MB is the average SNES, N64 rom ? (I actually have a 1GB card, and i'm curious :) )

- Will the HEN be released soon, will it suppot ISO/CSO, and what the f*** Davee is doing, as the HEN should take all his time over stupid life things like eating-sleeping-breathing ? (Guys, this one's obviously a lame joke :p)

Thanks for your answer, and sorry for my approximate english :blush:

Sincerely,

i recommend using the search feature

Hello all,

Yes you are!!!

No they all do not run in the exact same way. Most of the time once a HEN version is released homebrew has to be written for that specific version of HEN.

There will be a readme in the release on how to get HEN running. Once it's running just put your homebrew in ms0:/PSP/GAME/ then go to Game > memorystick to run your homebrew.

The best place I have found to find homebrew is psp-hacks.com in there download section. However if this version of HEN is not compatible with older versions then it would be useless.

- As a particular question, are there any homebrews GAMES around worthing the time to make them run ?

there is no taking time to making them run. It's unrar and drop in the ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

NES <= 1MB
SNES <= 6MB
N64 <= 34MB
Sega <= 5MB

Sincerely,

This new version of HEN will not support ISO/CSO. However is someone writes a homebrew program like UMDEmulator, DAX ZISO Loader, USB ISO Loader or something along those lines then ISO/CSO's will be supported.

Oh and even the jokes are getting tiring..

Look up the Hello World for this exploit, that's pretty much the best way to see how to execute it.

Personally I'd say that IRShell is pretty useful.

Roms, Tiny. Really effing tiny.

Will the HEN be released soon, will it suppot ISO/CSO,
Nobody knows when. ISOs and CSOs will probably be able to run with a seperate program that is booted by the HEN. It will be upto YOU to put this on your PSP. It will not come with the HEN.

... and what the f*** Davee is doing, as the HEN should take all his time over stupid life things like eating-sleeping-breathing ? (Guys, this one's obviously a lame joke :p)
My money is on him being in a tent.

Our sister site exophase recently had a makeover on it's downloads section. And personally I think it's the best one around. Check it out here:

Ok, thanks to everyone for your help.

By the way, my apologies if i re-asked some questions already answered, even if that REALLY was probably more a lack of deep understanding of PSP than laziness to read the forums :p

Cheers,
