Quickest/best way to go from OFW 1.50 to latest Custom Firmware

Hi,
Id like to play my GT iso on my PSP. It is a PSP-1000 1.50 firmware (non custom)

So what is the best way to get to the latest firmware? I have heard it is called 5.50 GenB or something.

Do I have to install a different CFW before I can update to Gen5.50?

I don't have a Pandoras battery so I would like to know the safest way to do it without bricking my PSP

well pandora is always the safest way and you can easily make one.

the easiest way to get to the latest cfw is to use hellcats recovery flasher to install 5.00M33-6 then to update to 5.50GEN

the latest OFW is 6.10.

How did you get HC recovery flasher to install 5.00 m33? I am trying to install it and it keeps canceling the install.

well you need kxploit to run recovery flasher on 1.50
